Perched atop a ridge at 12,000 feet in one of the most spectacular settings in the Rocky Mountains, Telluride Ski Resort’s Tempter House is one of the most unique and highest elevation homes in North America.
"The mountains are in your face. The view is so striking -- the beauty of the place is etched in my mind."
Located adjacent to the famous Gold Hill, the home overlooks Telluride Ski & Golf Resort and the dramatic 2,000 vertical foot Tempter Chute. Amenities include: steam shower, jacuzzi tub, pool table, sub zero appliances, ski-in/ski-out accommodations, log fireplaces, feather beds, the finest linens and spectacular views from all rooms.
Tempter House was built between 1996 and 2000 by David Eckley, an internationally recognized marathon runner who was a member of the Fila Sky Runner Team. He was undefeated in the Masters Class of the series for 3 years. This unique and luxurious five level house derives its name from its location above Tempter Chute. Built by hand with the finest stone collected from the ski area, this exquisite home is an architectural wonder. Anne Eckley, David's mother, who is registered nationally at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, designed the house.
