Telluride to Support Australia’s Relief Efforts
Telluride, CO - To support Australian relief efforts underway due to the devastating wildfires, Telluride will donate $1.00 from every skier visit on Australia’s National Day, Sunday January 26, 2020. The donations will be made to the Country Fire Authority (CFA) in Victoria, NSW Rural Fire Service in New South Wales, Port Macquarie Koala Hospital, Zoos Victoria and the Australian Red Cross.
“We have many guests who spend their ski vacation with us and so many long time employees from Australia. They are truly our Telluride family,” commented CEO Bill Jensen, “we are pleased that we can all come together to offer assistance now as they face this challenging time.”
In addition to the lift ticket donation on Australia Day, Telluride’s Ski School and Guest Services teams will be handing out tim tams, a uniquely Australian favorite cookie, to the first 500 skiers. Guest Services will be collecting cash donations for Wires, an Australian Wildlife Rescue organization.
“I am proud to work for a company that cares so much about my country, “ stated one of Telluride’s Australian employees.
