Telluride Ski Resort Hires New Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Matthew Windt Brings Years of Industry-Related Marketing Experience to Resort
(TELLURIDE, Colo.) – Telluride Ski Resort announces the hiring of Matthew Windt as its new Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Windt was most recently the VP of Marketing for Inspirato with American Express, and will assume his new role with the resort in mid-August.
“Telluride is an iconic year-round destination. I’m very excited to join the leadership team at one of the top ranked ski resorts in the world,” says Windt. “The resort has great ownership and a management team that is focused on growing year-round business, creating memorable experiences for guests, and building deeper relationships with destination visitors as well as the local community. Telluride is an amazing town where my family and I look forward to becoming very involved. I can’t wait to get started.”
Windt spent three and a half years at Inspirato with American Express, the fastest growing destination club in the world, starting as the Director of Digital Marketing before moving up to the Vice President position where he was responsible for acquisition and growth initiatives, managing the business partnership with American Express®, and building a world-class marketing team and sales-oriented culture.
He also has extensive experience in the resort travel industry. Prior to joining Inspirato, he worked at Vail Resorts for four years, managing the digital branding, online user experience, e-commerce, and analytics for the company’s portfolio of mountain resort and hospitality websites. He was part of the team that launched Vail Resorts’ Epic Pass program and developed EpicMix. Prior to Vail Resorts, Windt lived in Steamboat Springs for seven years, most recently in special events and online marketing for the Chamber Resort Association.
“We’re excited that someone of Matthew’s caliber is joining us here in Telluride,” says Greg Pack, President and General Manager of Telluride Ski Resort. “His extensive background in the ski and lodging industry fits particularly well with the resort’s goals of driving incremental room nights and directing business during our slower times of the year. I think he is an excellent fit for our team as well as the community, and will continue to move us in the right direction.”
Windt will be relocating with his wife and two children from Denver in early August and will start his new position mid-month.
