Telluride To The Extreme

Upper mountain terrain at Telluride has some of the best expert trails in North America

Although about 60% of Telluride Terrain is dedicated to beginner and intermediate skiing, Telluride still has some unbelievable extreme terrain in bounds. The top of 12 hike-to’s, Upper Hoot Brown Park, Black Iron Bowl, Gold Hill Chutes, Apex Glades, and all the way up to Palmyra Peak are just some examples of epic in-bounds skiing for advanced to expert skiers to enjoy. Be ready to earn your turns with hikes ranging from 30 minutes to two hours long. Make sure to stop into the ski patrol shack at the top of lift 9 to pick up an upper mountain terrain guide before dropping in!

Summiting Palmyra Peak is no easy feat, but definitely worth it for the view and the ride down! 200 acres of terrain and almost 2,000 vertical feet of skiing on the north face on the 13,320 ft elevation summit. Tram Shot, Sunrise, and Electric Shock drain into upper Moraine and Lower Palmyra Ridge witch lead back to Black Iron Bowl. Estimated hike time is 1.5 - 2 hours.

Dropping the cliffs into revelation bowl will definitely get some cheers from the lift line! Drop in to this wide open bowl and take on the deep powder or steep bumps!

The Upper Hoot Brown jump line gives you a birds eye view of Wilson Peak! Tackle our advanced terrain park featuring jumps with gaps up to 60 feet as well as plenty of creative rails, jibs, boxes, and wallrides!

Top of 12 hike-to's are legendary! Access Black Iron Bowl, mountain quail, dihedral chute and other European style faces that drop 1,000 vertical feet in the primary pitches. Genevieve: 5-10 minute hike. Lakeview: 20-25 minute hike. Mountain Quail: 20-45 minute hike.
