Kicking off events on Friday, July 1st, there’s plenty to do all weekend to celebrate the land of the free and the home of the brave closing the long holiday weekend with our July 4th festivities.

If you happen to arrive on Friday in preparation for the long holiday, be sure to stop by the Telluride Farmers’ Market on South Oak Street from 10:30 am to 4 pm to collect great produce for your weekend barbeques, family dinners, and picnics in the mountains. In addition, be sure to collect art, jewelry, and more from our local artists and vendors while stopping by the market. For some fantastic live music, be sure to grab your tickets for Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe at Club Red on Friday night. With incredible hikes accessible directly from town and Mountain Village, tubing, rafting, stand up paddleboarding, and so much more, your day of adventure over the holiday weekend will not soon be forgotten. If you’re looking for something out-of-the-box to do, be sure to touch base with the Telluride Adventure Center to see what kinds of guided outings you might want to try including fly fishing, 4x4 tours, Jeep excursions, or even the Via Ferrata climb.

Sunday, the holiday festivities kick into high gear beginning with Telluride Ski Resort’s weekly Guided Scenic Hike. Suitable for hikers and explorers of all ages, the hiking group meets in Heritage Plaza at 9:45 am and hits the trails at 10 am sharp. The hikes typically last about an hour and a half and give you an inside scoop on other great hikes in the area, local plants and wildlife, and great views of the surroundings.
