Chris Wisocki, the new Food and Beverage Director at The Peaks Resort & Spa , has returned to Telluride to share what he’s learned in many years in the culinary industry with the community. Wisocki started in the industry at 12 years old, working in his family’s restaurant, Pickwick, in Duluth, Minnesota. As the executive chef and owner, Pickwick won a James Beard Award in 2007 for all-around restaurant, and several Wine Spectator Awards. Chris spent time at Big Sandy Lodge & Resort in central MN before relocating to Telluride in 2011.
Wisocki joined Telluride Ski & Golf, working in the food and beverage department, as well as with events and catering. During his time, Wisocki played an integral role in raising the profile of Telluride’s signature outdoor on-mountain restaurant, Bon Vivant , as general manager and eventually assistant F&B Director for Telluride Ski & Golf.
Wisocki stepped away from Telluride in 2015 for an opportunity at Tamarack Resort in Idaho to oversee the resort’s hospitality programs, but ultimately Telluride was the place he was meant to be.
In fall 2016, Wisocki returned to Telluride as the Food and Beverage Director at The Peaks. “We’ve got some really great talent here, and lots of opportunity,” Wisocki said. “We want to expand our offerings with weddings and events, and put The Peaks back on the map through quality guest service and an elevated culinary offering.”
