Local Transportation

The destination is made up of two locations - the Town of Telluride and the Town of Mountain Village. The destination is very "walker friendly" since the two towns are connected by a free, pedestrian gondola that runs from 7am to midnight. Once you arrive here you’ll find that most lodging is ski-in/ski-out or just a short walk to the slopes. Plus, the shopping and dining of both Telluride and Mountain Village are in close proximity to lodging. Many guests find that having a rental car is not necessary in Telluride. If you don’t want to walk about town, a free shuttle service is available as well.

Telluride has plenty of powder, tree skiing and steeps. This is the terrain that many people have come to associate with Telluride Ski Resort.  But, 60% of our mountain is beginner or intermediate terrain.  We have long cruisers, multiple pods of intermediate terrain, and our beginner area is large and uncrowded.

One of the thrills of skiing at Telluride is getting to the top of Gold Hill Express (Lift 14) and enjoying the incredible views.  The best part of the experience is that is can be enjoyed by people of almost all ability levels.  From the top of Lift 14, beginners and experts alike can ski the See Forever trail to the base of the mountain - enjoying scenic vistas on a long groomed slope.

Ski and Snowboard School

Many experienced skiers enjoy using an instructor as a guide on the mountain.  The instructor can show you the lines, stashes and local knowledge that is hard to learn on your own.  Others choose private lessons or group lessons to improve their skiing ability.

Lessons of all types are available for children from ages 2½ - 14 years as well.

Lessons and mountain guides can be reserved by calling our Ski and Snowboard School at (970) 728-7507.
