No need for a car in Telluride as everything is within walking distance. Just eight blocks wide by 12 blocks long the total area of town is less than one mile. However, for those who wish to rest their weary legs after a long day on the slopes, Telluride offers free shuttle service on the Galloping Goose. Staying in Mountain Village? Enjoy a scenic ride on Telluride’s FREE Gondola, and arrive at your location via Mountain Village’s complimentary Dial-a-Ride service.
The road is less traveled here in Telluride thanks to the Gondola, the most innovative transportation system found in the country. Running daily from 7 a.m.-Midnight, the FREE 13-minute ride is Telluride’s version of public transportation, eliminating the 20 minute drive between Telluride and Mountain Village. Free for foot passengers all day long, skiers who use the gondola to access the mountain need a lift ticket to exit at the top, Station St. Sophia.

Telluride’s free shuttle service, the Galloping Goose, is a fixed route transportation system funded jointly by the Town of Telluride and San Miguel County through a yearly intergovernmental agreement. It loops thru town about every 12 minutes, 365 days a year, stopping at most intersections and busy corners.

Through a contract with Mountain Limo, the Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association (TMVOA) offers a fleet of suburbans as a form of free transportation to residents and visitors throughout town limits. Gratuity is recommended
Operating Hours: Seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Operating Dates: May 22 to October 19. In some instances Dial-A-Ride hours are extended in conjunction with extended gondola hours; refer to the Mountain Village event calendar for details.
