Telluride Ski Resort Announces Three Day Wellness Symposium on Evidence-Based Medicine
Acclaimed physicians Dr. Alan Safdi and Dr. William Renner to Discuss Nutrition and Wellness
TELLURIDE, Colorado (March 9, 2016) – This March, Telluride Ski Resort and the Peaks Resort & Spa will be hosting a three day Wellness Symposium on Evidence-Based Medicine featuring noted physicians Dr. Alan Safdi and Dr. William Renner. The Wellness Symposium, taking place March 20 – 22, 2016, will explore longevity, wellness, micro-nutrients, common medical disorders and is perfect for medical professionals as well as the general public with an interest in nutrition and wellness.
"Our mission is to provide up to date evidence-based medical information dealing with nutrition, wellness, and common diseases,” said Dr. Alan Safdi. “This is an evolutionary science and changes quickly. Often books and articles are inaccurate and misleading so the goal of this symposium is to share the most recent and impactful information for attendees to implement in their practice and everyday life.”
Some of the topics to be discussed include how much exercise we need, the risks and benefits of different supplements, genetic testing and screening, risks and benefits of common medications and more. All information will be supported by evidence-based medicine, as opposed to testimonials. The Symposium will occur each day in the Peaks Conference Room with two hours of live lectures in the afternoon and evening by both Dr. Safdi and Dr. Renner. Participants are then encouraged to continue the conversations throughout the remainder of the day on the chairlift or over lunch while enjoying everything Telluride Ski Resort has to offer.
“This type of event is a perfect example of our ongoing commitment to bring educational programming to the region,” said Robert Stenhammer, executive vice president at Telluride Ski Resort. “We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Safdi and Dr. Renner to Telluride for what is hopefully the first of many of these Wellness Symposiums on Evidence-Based Medicine.”
Medical professionals participating in the symposium will be eligible for 18 hours of accreditation for CME AMA Category 1. As part of the conference, the Peaks Resort & Spa will be offering reduced room rates, with a package that includes lodging, registration and lift tickets.
