Your Off-Season Guide To Telluride

A restaurant guide during spring off-season

When the lifts stop turning and mud season arrives, the activities in Telluride become a little scarcer, but there is still plenty to do, from enjoying our natural surroundings to locals’ deals at some of the region’s best restaurants. This year we have all you need to know to survive the off-season. Right after our mountain closes in April many locals leave town to go on vacation and refresh before the busy summer season kicks off. There is definitely a certain charm to the off-season however as the air is changing and the buds from trees and flowers are coming up out of the newly unfrozen soil. You can tell that summer is just about here. The region can be a quiet haven during this time to go on your favorite hikes and bike rides where you may not see another person the entire time. Just be sure to wear gear that you don’t mind getting a little bit muddy.

Our off-season guide starts with food. Some restaurants in Telluride and Mountain Village close up shop until sometime in May for cleaning and for employees to get out of town, but some stay open the entire time to fulfill the dining needs of those still here.
