There’s never a time more perfect to escape to the mountains. Throughout the summer, Telluride has hosted festivals, concerts, adventures, and events of all kinds and there’s still plenty of time left to visit and enjoy all that Telluride has to offer in the summer months. Most notably, however, are the free events that Telluride hosts to ensure that there’s always something for everybody to get excited about. Telluride Playwright’s Festival
TONIGHT - 7 pm - Sheridan Opera House
This evening is the free performance of The Hispanic Women’s Project and the launch of this year’s Telluride Playwright’s Festival. Tonight’s performance includes translations into Spanish for multilingual enjoyment. This production is starring local actresses telling true stories of local Hispanic women's experiences, working and living in the area.
Market on The Plaza and The Sunset Concert Series
Wednesdays - Today through August 17th - 11 am - 8 pm - Heritage Plaza and Sunset Plaza
Today and every Wednesday through August 17th, come up to Mountain Village to check out great products by local artisans at the Market on the Plaza from 11 am to 4 pm. Afterwards, grab a pizza to go from Crazy Elk and head to Sunset Plaza to enjoy some awesome bands playing on an outdoor stage with a stunning natural backdrop. Evenings outside are always wonderful in Telluride. With beautiful weather, mild temperatures, and always impressive sunsets, it’s no wonder and outdoor film series came to town. Grab some snacks and refreshments and claim your seat in Reflection Plaza in Mountain Village around 8:30 pm as the movies begin at dusk. Telluride Scenic Hikes

When visiting Telluride, your own two feet are the best vehicle with which to discover the beauty of the area. Join us for a scenic hike to start your Sunday morning right, suitable for all ages and abilities, it’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful weather. First Thursday Art Walk
Thursday, August 4th - 5-8 pm - Mountain Village and The Town of Telluride
Presented by the Telluride Arts District, eighteen venues in both Telluride and Mountain Village open their doors to the public for a night of entertainment, art, and refreshments. Venture around, shop a bit during extended hours, and enjoy the culture and brilliance of local Telluride artists.
