American Airlines Expands Flights To Telluride

Now offering service from four major U.S. hubs

With the heat of summer upon us, planning for the coming winter ski season is well underway. American Airlines has added yet another U.S. hub to Telluride’s winter air schedule with Charlotte (CLT) flights to Montrose-Telluride Regional Airport (MTJ), flying Saturdays through the winter season.

This new flight brings the total number of nonstop routes to 11 this winter season for the two airports serving the destination, Telluride (TEX) & Montrose-Telluride (MTJ). The options of getting to Telluride only keep growing, allowing the Southeastern region of the US more options than ever before when flying to Telluride.

“With the Charlotte addition, Telluride continues to increase the number of options for guests flying to Telluride,” said Colorado Flights COO Matt Skinner. “Our growing network offers destination visitors from the Northeast, mid-Atlantic, and Southeast another option to and from western Colorado.”

Charlotte was a key hub in the US Airways system prior to its merger with American Airlines, and provides improved connectivity up and down the eastern seaboard in the expanded network.

With recent service additions, Colorado Flights continues to invest in its partnership with American Airlines, having grown service with the airline by more than five-times over the past several years, increasing from approximately 11,000 to 57,000 round-trip seats, including:

  • Daily, year-round flights from/through Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW)
  • Twice-daily, seasonal flights from/through Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) during the winter
  • Daily, seasonal flights from Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX)
  • Additional seasonal flights from Chicago O'Hare (ORD) and now Charlotte (CLT) during the winter

"We're proud to offer this new service to Telluride," said Marius Jasevicius, Manager – American Airlines Network Planning. "Customers from around the world will now have access to Telluride from our second largest hub."
