Nordic skiing, (cross country skiing) is an activity that enables a skier to traverse snow covered terrain. Here, participants rely on their own locomotion and physical ability as opposed to chairlifts. Nordic skiing typically takes place in a valley on relatively flat land with a few hills along the way. Private Lessons & Rentals
Ninety minute Group and/or Private Lessons through the Telluride Nordic Association. Lessons are on professionally groomed and maintained trails (Town Park, Priest Lake, or Trout Lake).

Top-A-ten Snowshoe & Nordic Area
Located at the Top of Lift 10, the Top-A-ten Snowshoe and Nordic Area offers ten kilometers of groomed, rolling trails that lead Nordic skiers and snowshoers through high alpine forests and magical open meadows. The serene trails offer breathtaking views of Prospect Bowl, Palmyra Peak and the surrounding San Juan Mountains. Advanced skiers and snowshoers can continue outside the boundary of the ski area to Alta Lakes on National Forest trails. Warming yurts, picnic deck and restrooms are open to the public daily.

Telluride and the San Juan Mountains provide the perfect venue for a variety of Nordic skiing options. In addition to the lift-served Top-A-ten Nordic trails, Telluride Town Park, the Telluride Golf Course, local favorite Trout Lake and the newly acquired Valley Floor offer several kilometer of groomed trail for both skate and classic skiing.
