Eco Adventures Summer Camp

Eco Adventures provides fun summer kid’s activities to children ages 5-14 years through Telluride Ski & Golf.

Every child must come to camp prepared with:

  • Lunch & Snacks
  • Water
  • Hiking boots or hiking sneakers
  • Clothes okay to get wet, muddy, dirty
  • Additional layers
  • Sunglasses or Hat
  • Extra socks
  • Swim suit (on water Wednesdays)
  • Backpack to store all items
Lunch is not included in the camp fee, but we are happy to provide a sack lunch for an additional $10 charge. Please request the lunch while making your reservation.

kids camp

for ages 5-8 years

  • DETAILS

    Kids Camp is a full day program introducing kids ages 5-8 to the natural wonders of the world around them. These young adventurers will go on scenic hikes, discover local plants and animals, play games, and create nature crafts. Whether they’re peeking at insects through a magnifying glass or splashing around in the creek, your kids are sure to have a blast!

    • Offered Monday – Friday: June 12th – Sept. 1st.
    • 9:30AM-3:30PM
    • Kids ages 5-8
    • Wednesdays are our Water Wednesdays. Please see description listed below and pack accordingly.
    • $80/child/day. Register by April 7th and receive a $10 discount.
    • $700 for a 10-day package (days do not need to be consecutive).


ecoXploration

for ages 9-14 years

  • DETAILS

    Explorers ages 9-14 will discover the environment in new and challenging ways. In a full day of ecoXploration, your kids could learn to navigate with just a map and compass, build a survival fort, learn about the geology and plant life of Telluride, or hike to a waterfall. If you’re looking for a more specific skill, check out our special programs listed further down.

    • Offered Monday – Friday: June 12th – Sept. 1st.
    • 9:30AM-3:30PM
    • Kids ages 9-14
    • Wednesdays are our Water Wednesdays. Please pack accordingly.
    • Friday is Capture the Flag. Please see the description listed further down and pack accordingly.
    • $80/child/day. Register by April 7th and receive a $10 discount.
    • $700 for a 10-day package (days do not need to be consecutive).

    To maintain proper group dynamic, we strongly recommend older and younger siblings to split and join the specific program designed for their age group.


Water Wednesday

for ages 9-14 years

Kids Tubing in River

  • DETAILS

    Splash your way through Telluride during our wild Water Wednesdays! Kids will have fun while staying cool under the summer sun. We have a day full of water based activities; whether its stand up paddle boarding, tubing down the San Miguel River, or competing in liquid limbo

    • Offered the following Wednesdays: June 21, 28, July 5, 12, 19, 26, Aug. 2, 9, 16
    • 9:30AM -3:30PM
    • Standard Kids Camp rates apply: $80/child.
    • Please arrive to Eco Adventures ready with a bathing suit, water shoes, and a towel in addition to normal camp items.

    To book, please buy a Kids Camp or EcoX product for the corresponding Wednesday.

     

Capture the Flag

for ages 8 years and over

  • DETAILS

    Join us for a classic game of strategy and team-building. The game takes place in a wooded setting perfect for sneaking around your opponents. Teams will play multiple games throughout the day to have many opportunities to come out on top! Our Capture the Flag Fridays are favored among kids and staff alike, and each participant will receive a team-colored Eco Adventures bandana to keep as a souvenir.

    • Offered the following Fridays: June 23, 30; July 14, 21, 28; Aug. 4, 11
    • On Friday, July 17th, Fun Field Friday will take place instead of capture the flag due to the Ride Festival in Town Park
    • 9:30AM – 3:30PM
    • Kids ages 8+ (younger kids will have an opportunity to play in the afternoon games)
    • Standard Kids Camp rates apply: $80/child. Register Thursday or before and receive a $10 discount.

     

Build A Float

for ages 5-14 years

    In addition to our standard day camp on July 1st & 3rd, we will be offering kids the opportunity to help build our Telluride-themed float for the 4th of July parade.  Kids who participate in building the float on either day can join us as we march in the Telluride parade on Monday, July 4.

    • Offered Saturday, July 1st & Monday, July 3rd
    • 9:30AM – 3:30PM
    • Ages 5-14
    • Standard Kids Camp rates apply: $80/day. Register by April 7th and receive a $10 discount.
    • Maximum of 20 float builders each day.
    • To give all kids a chance to participate, please reserve your child for only one day of float building.

Kids Adventure Race

for ages 5-14 years

Kids Racing through Field with Counselor

  • DETAILS

    This summer brings the sixth annual Kids Adventure Race in Telluride. Modeled after the hit CBS series, Amazing Race, teams of kids, along with their fearless adult leaders, will collect hints that direct the team to obstacles which everyone must overcome together to advance. The race course and challenges will be located in the towns of Telluride and Mountain Village, and within the Ski Area. All participants will receive a t-shirt and an invitation to the celebratory pizza party at Crazy Elk after the race.

    • Offered one day only: Thursday, July 20th
    • 9:30AM – 3:30PM
    • Kids ages 5-14
    • $80 through July 17, and $95 July 18-20


Old Sawmill Ranch
Horses & Ropes Course

for all ages depending on session

  • DETAILS

    This day-trip to the Old Sawmill Ranch in Norwood teaches kids about Natural Horsemanship, a training and handling technique which is gentler than traditional methods and builds a beneficial relationship between horses and their handlers. In addition to developing leadership skills through riding horses, the group will challenge themselves in a low ropes course built in an amazing natural setting.

    • Tuesday, Aug. 8 (all ages). Thurssday, Aug. 10 (all ages)
    • 9:00AM – 4:00PM
    • $95/child. Register by April 7th and receive a $10 discount
    • Reservations are required 48 hours in advance

2-day ecoXploration
(with overnight)

for ages 9-14 years

  • DETAILS

    This adventure includes two full days of outdoor exploration outside of the ski area and a fun overnight in a Colorado state park-sanctioned camp ground. The group will discuss basic wilderness awareness & Leave No Trace ethics as they learn to appreciate the natural world.  To encourage independence, instructors will help kids be responsible for their own belongings, set up and break down camp and prepare for and clean up after meals.

    Both male and female instructors will be present. To fully experience the wilderness and all it has to offer, kids’ electronic devices are prohibited on this 2-day camping excursion. Counselors will carry mobile phones and share their numbers with parents.

    • 9am Monday, July 10 - 3pm Tuesday, July 11
    • 9am Monday, July 24 - 3pm Tuesday, July 25
    • Ages 9-14
    • $280/child (cost includes sleeping bag/pad, headlamp & life jacket rental, dinner on Wednesday and breakfast and lunch on Thursday) Register by April 7th and receive a $30 discount.
    • Maximum of 8 kids. Reservations are required at least 48 hours in advance.


Mountain
Biking

for ages 9-14 years

  • DETAILS

    While pedaling on some beginner trails, this group will study appropriate trail etiquette and proper mountain biking technique for bike/body position, shifting, braking, climbing, and descending. However, if you have the basics down, just enjoy a ride with friends! Our goal is to evolve from wider trails to single track.

    • Offered June 29; July 13, 27; Aug. 10
    • 9:30AM – 3:30PM  
    • Ages 9-14
    • Standard Kids Camp rates apply: $80/day. Register by April 7th and receive a $10 discount
    • Please arrive to Eco Adventures ready with a bike and helmet
    • Rentals available at Bootdoctors in Mountain Village for $20/day
    • Maximum of ten participants. Must reserve at least 48 hours in advance.


Top-A-Ten Yurt Trips

for families of all ages

  • DETAILS

    Treat your friends and family to an adventure-packed overnight trip of mountaineering and glamping in your own private yurt. Nature Center Mini Camps

for ages 5 years and up

  • DETAILS

    Join us on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for a fun, abbreviated program for kids ages 5 and up that focuses on using the outdoors as a “living classroom”. Lessons include Geocaching, Bug Safari, and Squirrel Olympics, upon many more. Please contact the Nature Center for a tentative schedule of activities.

    • Tuesdays and Thursdays
    • 10AM – noon
    • Ages 5+
    • $25/child
    • Meet at the St. Sophia Nature Center outside the top Gondola station.
    • Maximum 14 kids


St. Sophia Nature Center

all ages welcome!

  • DETAILS

    At the St. Sophia Nature Center you'll find information on hiking and biking trails, weather expectations, and local ecosystems to help prepare you for your adventures in the area. Interpretive displays include: geology, animal tracks and signs, pelts and skulls, and Native American history & water use. The Nature Center is open daily from 9AM-4PM Monday, June 5th through September 3rd.
