TopAten Snowshoe & Nordic Area

Located at the Top of Lift 10, the TopAten Snowshoe and Nordic Area offers 10 kilometers of groomed, rolling trails that lead nordic skiers and snowshoers through high alpine forests and magical open meadows. The serene trails offer breathtaking views of Prospect Bowl, Palmyra Peak and the surrounding San Juan Mountains.  Advanced skiers and snowshoers can continue outside the boundary of the ski area to Alta Lakes on National Forest trails.  A warming teepee, picnic deck and restrooms are open to the public daily.

To access the TopAten Snowshoe & Nordic Area a "Foot Passenger" lift ticket can be purchased for $20. 

Guided Snowshoe Tours

Educational snowshoe tours with a local naturalist are available at 10:00 a.m. daily from the Mountain Village Activity Center.  Experience an exhilarating 2 to 3 hour snowshoe hike through the forest at 11,000 feet while learning about Telluride's unique environment.  Private tours are also available.  Snowshoes and lift ticket to touring area provided, no experience necessary. Tickets for the TopAten Nordic and Snowshoe Area are available at the Mountain Village Activity Center located at the bottom of the gondola stairs.

Additional Nordic Skiing

Telluride and the San Juan Mountains provide the perfect venue for a variety of nordic skiing options.  In addition to the lift-served TopAten nordic trails, Telluride Town Park, the Telluride Golf Course, local favorite Trout Lake and the newly acquired Valley Floor offer several kilometer of groomed trail for both skate and classic skiing.
