The Golden Door Spa has officially re-opened.  In our efforts to keep the membership informed on the renovation progress of the Golden Door Spa, we wanted to communicate the following update from The Peaks Resort:

Spring Off-Season Information
 
The Golden Door Spa at The Peaks will closed for 2 weeks beginning Monday April 7th.  The spa will re-open for members and guests Tuesday April 22nd.  The spa’s hours of operation will be from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday.  Normal hours will resume Friday, May 23rd.


Dear Members,

As the Golden Door Spa moves towards completing its’ renovation program, we continue to share news regarding specific initiatives that are currently underway. These bi-weekly “Spa Updates” sent via mail will keep you up-to-date on our progress along with general spa news. If you would like to receive updates via email, please send your contact information to Kristi Dickinson at kdickinson@luxuryresorts.com .

• The steam cleaning project has been completed ahead of schedule. The showers in the Men’s and Women’s Lounges, steam rooms within both Lounges and B Level, and the areas surrounding the Roman tubs have all been cleaned and are now available for use.
  
• The installation of the steam generator in the Men’s Lounge is complete.
  
• The Gondola has closed for off-season, and will re-open Nov. 15th. Parking options now include:Paid parking lots at North Village Center (near Westermere) and Village Pond and complimentary parking at the Intercept lot, with complimentary van shuttle departing every 15 minutes from The Market to the Centrum bus stop.
  
• We hope to have construction completed by Thanksgiving, allowing us to valet park member cars. Please check future newsletters for updates.
  
• The Spa will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Thursday Nov. 22nd, in observance of the holiday.

General Spa Info:

• Hours of operation are Monday – Saturday, 6:15 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.</ li>
  
• First treatment appointment is at 9 a.m., last appointment at 4:30 p.m.</ li>
  
• Please use the entrance located on Mountain Village Boulevard; due to temporary fire lane restrictions, the Spa is not accessible via the resort’s main entrance.
  
• No onsite valet or self-parking for Spa guests is available at this time.

Dues:

We anticipate that all renovations will be complete – include all equipment updates and installations – by Nov. 30th. We also expect to offer valet and onsite parking by this date. As such, starting Dec. 1, 2007, Spa dues will be reinstated at full price. 

We want to ensure that all of our members are well-informed of Spa renovation progress. Spa Update for Week of Oct. 29, 2007:

• Furniture and additional décor continues to arrive daily, and will be installed as quickly as allows without disrupting the spa ambiance.
  
• We have begun a steam cleaning program within both the Men’s and Women’s Lounges, steam rooms and the areas surrounding the roman tubs. Showers in the Men’s Lounge will be steam cleaned daily from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. through Nov. 7th. Showers in the Women’s Lounge will be cleaned on Sundays through Nov. 10th. Showers not undergoing steam cleaning may be used, or alternate showers are available on the B Level.
  
• There has been a slight delay with the installation of the steam generator in the Men’s Lounge. We continue to work on the generator, and hope to have it completely operational within the next week.

This communiqué is the first of our new bi-monthly “Spa Updates” sent via mail to keep you up-to-date on our progress along with general spa news.

  
  Spa Update for Week of Oct. 14, 2007

  • The lap pool, indoor/outdoor pool, waterslide and family pool are all open. All pools have been re-painted and updated with new valves and filters. We will continue to monitor the pools closely and will give you as much notice as possible if a closure is necessary for continued maintenance. 
    
  • All hot tubs are currently operational. We have replaced several tub pumps and boilers, and installed a new flagstone boarder around the exterior tub.
    
  • The men’s lounge sauna has been repaired and is fully operational.
    New steam generators as well as additional furniture and décor have been ordered for installation in the next two months.

  • In August, we felt it beneficial to open the components of the spa that were ready for immediate use to allow members to reinstate their workout programs or enjoy spa treatments. We appreciate your patience during our ongoing renovations, and hope you will understand that these inconveniences are temporary while we continue to enhance and improve the spa facilities. All repairs are expected to be complete by the time the resort opens in mid-December. 
  
  Moving forward, we want to ensure that all of our members are well-informed of Spa renovation progress.
