    At the St. Sophia Nature Center you'll find information on hiking and biking trails, weather expectations and local ecosystems to help prepare you for your adventures in the area.  Interpretive displays include:  geology, animal tracks and signs, pelts and skulls, Native American history & water use.  The Nature Center is open daily from 9AM-4PM daily Monday, June 9 through Sunday, September 7.

    GUIDED HIKES
    Join our experienced interpreter and learn about life zones, tree identification, geology, birds, wildflowers and local human history. Hikes can be customized to guests’ requests and will range from an easy 2 mile downhill walk to longer treks on more challenging terrain.

    GROUP-BASED LEARNING
    Join us on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for a fun, abbreviated program for kids ages 4 and up that focuses on using the outdoors as a “living classroom”. Lessons will include Bug Safari, Bucktooth Builders, Endless Energy, Geocaching & Gold Panning with Telluride mining history.

    Tuesdays and Thursdays (6/10/14 – 8/28/14)
    10AM – noon
    Ages 4+
    $25/child
    Meet at the St. Sophia Nature Center outside the top Gondola station.
    Maximum of 14 kids.
