Upon arrival, your children will feel right at home with Telluride's friendly mascots - Olivia the Otter, Eddie the Eagle and Morris the Bear.  Olivia, Eddie and Morris are part of an integrated program to teach children not only skiing and snowboarding, but also Telluride's history and environment.

Eddie the Eagleeddiewaving

"I love to explore and teach kids and people about all the interesting people and places I've met on my journeys.  I've flown over lots of great places, but I haven't found a spot I like more than Telluride."

Eddie is like an older brother who thinks he's always right! He thinks he knows it all because he's flown over so many great places, but the truth is he still hasn't found a spot cooler than Telluride.  Eddie always wears a red handkerchief around his neck and has a walking stick in his hand. He's one of Telluride's true explorers. You can dress Eddie in all his exploring clothing in the games section.  You'll probably see him in Ute Park thinking he's all that. But don't be so quick to hit Eddie with a snowball—he's super friendly and has a heart of gold.

Morris the Bear - the Gold Minermorrisside

"Telluride is my home too.  Because my dad was a gold miner in the area, I know a lot about Telluride's rich history.  Hey, did you know that Butch Cassidy robbed his first bank here?"

Morris, "The Miner," a 3-year-old huggable, lovable bear, is Eddie and Olivia's sidekick. But be careful; Morris likes to ramble on and on and on and on. Explore his Seek-a-Word in the game section and you'll know what we're talking about.  Morris has also been known to ski down big mountains and scratch his back on trees.

oliviaarmsoutOlivia Otter - the Ute Indian

"Hi, I'm Olivia.  I've lived in Telluride all my life and I can't wait to share my experiences with all the kids who come to visit.  Thanks to my Ute heritage I know all about the plants and animals that live here"

Olivia, a 5-year-old mischievous river otter, lives in Telluride with her native Ute Indian family. Olivia loves playing in the snow. She has endless energy—you can often find Olivia Tubing at Thrill Hill.  Sometimes she'll go out and dance around with gold bells tied onto her ankles, multicolored bracelets dangling from her wrists, and turquoise and pink feathers hanging from her ears.  If you're really lucky, you'll catch Olivia teaching her friends in the ski school, including Morris and Eddie, about the plants and animals that live in Telluride.
